Hello and welcome to Manchester International School….

Since 2014, we have been providing successive high quality, co-education across academic Year groups from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 12 to students from across New Cairo and beyond.
We are an officially accredited British school as a partnership school of the British Council Egypt and authorised by the Egyptian Ministry of Education to provide mainstream education.
We know that selecting the right school for your child to attend can be a daunting and stressful process for all concerned. We hope that the information provided on the following pages will assist you in following our processes smoothly in a timely manner in order to provide an outcome as soon as possible.

At MIS we are academically selective and accept prospective student candidates based on their academic performance in both English as a first language and Mathematics by assessing their levels of literacy in English as a first language and standard numeracy*.

From Foundation Stage to Y10 this involves observed and invigilated examinations.

Students for Y11 & Y12 will need to submit their statements of expected outcomes or statements of achievement for review.
Parents/legal guardians are required to attend a personal interview with a member of the directors, to obtain an insight into family background, educational mindset and home-life.
Our specific criterion allows us to review a candidate’s suitability for both our school environment and standards of education.

MIS tests, pass marks, criteria etc remain confidential to ensure all candidates have a fair and equal chance to provide true showcase of their best academic ability and be judged upon those merits.

Our processes are transparent and applied to all candidates regardless of background.

*Candidates wishing to transfer from outside of Egypt who are of Arab nationality will be required to sit additional exams as per the EMOE.
